An ad-free platform where communities thrive through organic discovery, voluntary support, and user-driven content organization.
Gecker is a social platform built on principles of transparency, user ownership, and community control. No algorithms manipulating your feed, no ads tracking your every move, and no billionaire overlords extracting value from your creativity. We're sustained entirely by our community through voluntary donations—represented by our card-based tier system where every supporter gets recognized.
We're currently in invite-only alpha testing on our development server. This means you might encounter bugs, performance issues, and possible data loss. We're testing everything from server infrastructure to community moderation systems.
🔒 Invite-Only Alpha: Access requires an invitation code. Expect errors, downtime, and possible database resets. Don't post anything you can't afford to lose!
Core features complete. Remaining work: Tree Dens, Forest/Arboreta custom CSS, polish, optimization, and final testing.
Gecker is currently in Invite-Only Alpha (IOA). Each user receives a limited number of invites to share. This controlled growth helps us test infrastructure, refine features, and maintain our ad-free, community-focused culture.
Invite-Only Beta (IOB) is planned for Q2-Q3 2026, expanding access while continuing to grow sustainably through the Trust Fund.
* Public launch timing depends on Trust Fund sustainability during invite-only phases
Gecker uses natural metaphors to organize communities and content. No algorithms, no manipulation—just organic discovery guided by you.
Public communities for shared interests. Anyone can create and moderate a Tree. Posts can be shared to up to 40 Trees!
Your personal Tree. Every user has exactly one Yard showing all their posts—your home base for building a following.
Verified business communities. Zero cost, zero ads, user-controlled engagement—no algorithms pushing paid content!
Perfect for businesses, brands & creators
Custom combinations of Trees. Create your own personalized feed across multiple communities and interests.
Private group chats for 2-100 members (like Discord channels meets Facebook Messenger). Tree Dens (coming soon!) will give every Tree its own community chat space. Single-member "Notebooks" for personal notes.
Custom combinations of Gardens. Follow multiple businesses, brands, and creators in one curated feed.
Gecker draws inspiration from the platforms that came before us. We've learned from Reddit's community-driven moderation, Facebook's social graph, Twitter's real-time conversations, Wikipedia's open collaboration, and yes, even Digg's pioneering community voting system. We honor these influences while charting our own path—one without ads, algorithms, or billionaire overlords.
